Maidstone Achievements

Katy, Caleb & Lia were the 3 lucky winners of the £5 WHSmith vouchers. These were for 99% attendance or more awards and were presented in assembly today. In total 61 children were put into the draw and each child received a house point. Well done to all those children and keep it up.

At Maidstone Infant School we are continuously reviewing the systems we have in place for recognising children’s behaviour.

We are trialling a new system designed for children who have achieved well throughout the week. ‘The Golden Ticket Award’ will be for those children who always sit nicely on the carpet, always try their best with their work, don’t have time outs and are generally delightful, hardworking children.

Last week (30/1/15) was the first week we awarded Golden Tickets.

The winners were: Amelia, Pirathishaa, Katy, Savannah, Rubie and Vanessa.

Today (6/2/15) the winners were:

Jake, Megan, Asatodd, Joshua and Michalina.

Well done to all the winners and we hope you enjoyed your Golden Ticket tea party!

A big thank you to all the children and staff who came to school in their pyjamas in aid of Children in Need. They all looked fabulous. We raised £163.01.

When I visited Lion Class last week they showed me what they had been working on. They were able to explain what they had done and what they had learnt. I think their work is fantastic.

Today we had an Assembly to celebrate all those children that had completed the Reading Challenge over the holiday – they had to read at least 20 times. Miss Nelmes presented the children with a certificate.  There were lots of  smiling faces all around and sore hands from the clapping!.  We are all very proud of the children and would also like to say thank you to the grown ups who helped them.
