We are delighted to tell you that Maidstone Infants School & Nursery have been chosen as a winner of 20 World Sports Day pin badges as a reward for sharing our plans for World Sports Day on Monday 25th June 2012. These will be given out to as prizes during our celebrations in school.

Yesterday Tilly went to meet the Duchess of Cambridge at the Treehouse Hospice in Ipswich. Tilly was chosen as one of only two children to present a posy to the Duchess. Both Tilly’s sister’s and Mum went along and a fab day was had by all.
Tilly told the whole school about it in assembly today and we all watched a news clip of the visit. Tilly also answered questions from her school friends and she got to sit on Mrs Girling’s chair!! (Shhhh!!).

Unfortunately we have decided to cancel the Year 2 country dancing due to the weather. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to walk with the children.

Today we have had the Circus Wow Day and what a Wow day it was! The children all looked fantastic and can we say thank you to all the parents and carers who helped the children with their fantastic costumes! The staff also dressed for the occasion and looked great (well, in a funny sort of way!).
Thank you to all the staff who worked really hard to make this day a success and thanks to the children for being so enthusiastic today!
We also had the Evening Star photographer who came and took photos, so watch out for our pictures.

Today we had an Assembly to celebrate all those children that had completed the Reading Challenge over the holiday – they had to read at least 20 times. Miss Nelmes presented the children with a certificate. There were lots of smiling faces all around and sore hands from the clapping!. We are all very proud of the children and would also like to say thank you to the grown ups who helped them.

Dear Parents and Carers
I just thought you would like to know how well the whole school responded to this mornings one minute silence. A child in Leopard class was able to explain what it meant. The children showed their respect by being silent for a whole minute. I was really proud of them all!!! Well done to you all.
