School Uniform

Copyright Maidstone Infant School

There is a school uniform, the wearing of which is very much encouraged. The children look very smart and they are proud to belong to Maidstone Infant School.

All items of clothing should be clearly named.

The following items are essential for physical education and should be kept at school during the week in a cloth draw-string bag marked clearly with your child’s name: slip on plimsolls, white T-shirt and blue shorts. Indoor physical education will be in bare feet.

Children are not allowed to wear jewellery at school because rings, bangles, necklaces and earrings are dangerous during play and physical education. For their own safety, children are not allowed to wear earrings during physical education. Please remove them before your child comes to school on P.E days or provide a container if your child is able to remove them themselves. Children with recently pierced ears should wear sleepers with flat studs at the back and these should be covered with micropore tape or plasters (from home) for P.E.

Watches tend to get lost or damaged and we ask parents not to let children bring them into school.

School sweatshirts or cardigans should be bought from our official stockist in Felixstowe. Some good quality second-hand sweatshirts/cardigans are available at the school office although there is no guarantee of sizes. Stocks are limited and depend on donations from parents whose own children no longer need them or have outgrown them.
